The monastery of the Ruins of Mammon holds two beacons in Mortal Shell II — the Entrance and the Sisters' Gate — plus the red censer that unlocks Genessa. Route from the Outskirts, Map Fragment 1, and the quest staging explained.
The monastery — known in the world's own tongue as Sester's Refuge — is the haunted convent district of the Ruins of Mammon, and the source of the game's most important quest item. Two Beacons mark its progress: the Entrance and the Sisters' Gate.
The route
- Start at the Outskirts of Mammon Beacon and run the road toward the monastery, passing the tall tower position where Mammon Map Fragment 1 sits — grab it.
- Arrive at the monastery and cleanse the Entrance Beacon.
- From the Entrance, follow the route onward and cleanse the Sisters' Gate Beacon — the district's deeper checkpoint.
Why this district matters: the censer
The monastery's statue courtyard hides the red Sester's Censer, and touching it triggers a boss fight. Win, and the censer becomes a carried quest item: deliver it to the nun in Marrow Keep to unlock Genessa, the Wayward — the game's only quest-gated Shell.
The district's interior also feeds the Valley of the Revered road — the conquered temple region beyond the Sisters' Gate — so both Beacons earn their keep twice.
