Mortal Shell II — How to Get Lazlo, the Justicar (Royal Crypt of Mammon)

Published 2026-09-174 min read

Lazlo, the Justicar waits behind the mini-boss of the Royal Crypt of Mammon in Mortal Shell II. Our guide covers the route from the High Lord's Keep Beacon and how to survive the boss's devastating heavy attacks.

Lazlo, the Justicar is buried royalty — literally. The Shell is claimed at the far end of the Royal Crypt of Mammon, immediately after you put down the mini-boss who guards it. The fight is a check on patience rather than reflexes: its biggest swings can end you, but they are also your best openings.

Survive the crypt's guardian and Lazlo, the Justicar is yours to claim.

The route in

  1. Fast travel to the High Lord's Keep Beacon and set it as your respawn point.
  2. Follow the road into the Royal Crypt of Mammon until you reach the boss room.
  3. Win the fight — then walk to the far end of the chamber, where the Shell waits as a claimable body.

How to fight the guardian

The crypt's boss telegraphs enormous area attacks — wide, slow, and capable of erasing a careless Shell in one or two hits. The winning approach is disciplined distance management:

  • Do not greedy-trade. Its heavy swings have brutal reach; standing in to sneak one extra hit is exactly how these fights are lost.
  • Pull apart and punish. Commit to a retreat-read pattern: let the swing whiff, close during the recovery, deal your damage, and get out again.
  • Cleansing the Beacon beforehand is non-negotiable. The walk from the High Lord's Keep Beacon back to the arena is short, which keeps every attempt cheap.

After the kill, claim the body, take Lazlo's Shell Memory scene, and add the Justicar to your roster.
