Mortal Shell II — Bard's Lute Location (One-Legged Wolf Tavern)
Published 2026-09-173 min read
The Bard's Lute is Mortal Shell II's magic sidearm, sitting on the stage of the One-Legged Wolf tavern — no boss, no dungeon. Here is where to grab it, plus the Mether's Breath requirement that gates the tavern itself.
The Bard's Lute is the strangest sidearm in Mortal Shell II: a magical instrument whose blasts punish enemies and confuse them into turning on each other. And unlike most of the arsenal, it asks for no blood — it is a stage pickup in a tavern.

Where to find it
- Fast travel to the One Legged Wolf Beacon.
- Head south-east into the One-Legged Wolf tavern.
- Walk to the stage where the musician is playing — the lute sits right beside him on the stage. Pick it up. No boss, no dungeon, no fight.
The gate in front of the gate
The only complication is reaching the tavern at all: the area is sealed behind corruption that only the Mether's Breath ability clears. You earn Mether's Breath by defeating a main gate boss and delivering its Ova, so if the tavern wall refuses you, go win a gate first and come back.
What it plays like
- Confusion is crowd control. Lute blasts can turn enemies against each other, letting a surrounded Harbinger turn a mob into a bar brawl that does not involve him.
- A real damage option. The magical bolts hit respectably, giving resolve-heavy builds a genuine ranged pressure tool.
- Perfect for hit-and-run kits. Pair it with mobile weapons like the Axe and Dagger: soften and scramble from range, then dash in for the cleanup.
