Mortal Shell II — Arbiter's Prize: Blood-Curse Infusion & Boss Drop

Published 2026-09-173 min read

The Arbiter's Prize Tarstone infuses your weapon with a blood curse for 30 Resolve in Mortal Shell II — starting at 4 strikes, upgradable to permanent. It drops from the field mini-boss below the Widow's Overlook Beacon.

The Arbiter's Prize is the Tarstone that turns a weapon into a curse. Spend 30 Resolve and your blade drinks blood — every strike carries the affliction until the infusion's strike count runs out. It drops straight from a field mini-boss below the Widow's Overlook Beacon, no trial required.

One field boss, one permanent weapon upgrade — if you can take it from him.

How to get it

  1. Fast travel to the Widow's Overlook Beacon.
  2. Turn away from the Beacon and take the downhill road. The field mini-boss waits along it.
  3. Kill the mini-boss. The Arbiter's Prize drops on the spot — no trial tablet involved.

What it does

  • Cost: 30 Resolve to activate the infusion.
  • Level 1: the curse empowers 4 strikes before fading.
  • Upgrades extend the count, and the final level makes the infusion permanent — every swing carries the curse for as long as Resolve holds.

The arithmetic is simple: four cursed swings per activation is already a big damage window; a permanent one redefines the weapon. Infusion Tarstones like this are why Resolve management matters — the more you attack, the more Resolve you generate, the more curse you can afford.

Who wants it

Aggressive builds that stay in melee range get the most from the Prize — especially fast weapons that spend the strike window quickly. It is thematically mandated equipment for the Clockwork Scythe, and honestly, who are we to argue with a bloody scythe.
