Mortal Shell II — Acolyte's Stone: Charged Light Attacks from Merrick's Shop
Published 2026-09-173 min read
The Acolyte's Stone adds a Resolve-fueled charged light attack to your weapon in Mortal Shell II, scaling to +15% crit chance and 150% crit damage. It costs 2,000 coins at Merrick's shop in Marrow Keep — details inside.
The Acolyte's Stone gives your weapon a new verb: a charged light attack, powered by Resolve, that scales into a genuine critical-strike engine. No trial, no boss — it simply costs 2,000 coins at the Marrow Keep shop.

How to buy it
- Travel to Marrow Keep and find Merrick, the merchant NPC.
- Talk to him and open the Tarstones tab of his shop.
- Select the Acolyte's Stone and pay 2,000 coins.
What it does
- Activation: spend 40 Resolve to unleash a charged light attack.
- Level 1: the charged attack gains +15% critical chance.
- Level 2: it deals 150% critical damage.
- Level 3: the Resolve cost drops to 30, making the move spam-friendly.
Why it is worth the coins
Charged attacks slot into any rhythm: open a duel with one, answer a boss's recovery with another, or bank them as burst between parry punishes. The crit scaling means it rewards every other crit-boosting piece you own, and the level 3 discount turns it from a finisher into a habit.
If your style runs heavier, its sibling is the Unwieldly Stone — the same idea, built around charged heavy attacks and kill-time healing.
